Personal

An Easter poem

His love washed over me as the light that first breaks

Over the pines, driving darkness away.

His joy flooded my soul as His love swept

Through me and quickened a heart of stone.

There are no words to tell the depth of what

Has happened, but my life has been changed.

A life that was bound for tragedy, loss,

And endless pain is now abundantly free.

The grave that once held fear for me

Now yields to an empty tomb.

He Lives! He Lives! The hymnist cries;

He lives within my heart.

And this one truth – and this alone – is all I ever need.
